d. Ultrasonic test
e. Radiographic test.
Use the engineering materials

52 comments:

  1. 1. Visual Test, originally known as MS-Test, was an automated testing tool for Windows applications developed by Microsoft and later sold to Rational Software.

    2. widely applied and low-cost inspection method used to locate surface-breaking defects in all non-porous materials (metals, plastics, or ceramics).

    3. The building is constructed on non-magnetic materials and contains a magnetic coil system that allows the cancellation of the Earth's magnetic field.

    4. very short ultrasonic pulse-waves with center frequencies ranging from 0.1-15 MHz and occasionally up to 50 MHz are launched into materials to detect internal flaws or to characterize materials.

5 .Either an X-ray machine or a radioactive source (Ir-192, Co-60, or in rare cases Cs-137) can be used as a source of photons. Neutron radiographic testing (NR) is a variant of radiographic testing which uses neutrons instead of photons to penetrate materials. This can see very different things from X-rays, because neutrons can pass with ease through lead and steel but are stopped by plastics, water and oils.

  10. Visual Test, originally known as MS-Test, was an automated testing tool for Windows applications developed by Microsoft and later sold to Rational Software.

Dye penetrant inspection (DPI), also called liquid penetrant inspection (LPI) or penetrant testing (PT), is a widely applied and low-cost inspection method used to locate surface-breaking defects in all non-porous materials (metals, plastics, or ceramics). The penetrant may be applied to all non-ferrous materials and ferrous materials, but for inspection of ferrous components magnetic-particle inspection is also preferred for its subsurface detection capability. LPI is used to detect casting, forging and welding surface defects such as cracks, suface porosities, and leaks in new products, and fatigue cracks on in-service components.

The Spacecraft Magnetic Test Facility at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland was built in 1966 to allow the evaluation of magnetic movement in spacecraft. The building is constructed on non-magnetic materials and contains a magnetic coil system that allows the cancellation of the Earth's magnetic field. This unique building was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1985 [3].

In ultrasonic testing (UT), very short ultrasonic pulse-waves with center frequencies ranging from 0.1-15 MHz and occasionally up to 50 MHz are launched into materials to detect internal flaws or to characterize materials. The technique is also commonly used to determine the thickness of the test object, for example, to monitor pipework corrosion.

  11. a.Visual test is considered the most
    important non- destructive test, it
will result in the discovery of the vast
majority of defects which could be
found later using some other more
    expensive NDT methods.

b.Die penetrant test is used to locate discontinuities which are opened to
surface (surface discontinuities). This is done by applying a penetrant to the
cleaned surface of the test piece.

c.Magnetic particles test method is used primarily to discover surface
discontinuities in ferromagnetic materials, however indications can be
observed as well from subsurface discontinuities which are very close to the
    surface.

d.Ultrasonic testing (UT) is an inspection method which uses sound waves,
well above the range of human hearing, to measure geometric and physical
properties in materials. Sound waves travel at different speeds in different
    materials.

e.The radiographic test involves passing gamma rays through a part and onto
light sensitive film to detect internal flaws (cracks, pores, etc.). It is widely
used in the inspection of critical parts and material.

    4. very short ultrasonic pulse-waves with center frequencies ranging from 0.1-15 MHz and occasionally up to 50 MHz are launched into materials to detect internal flaws or to characterize materials.
